Georgia’s unemployment rate is at an all-time high. Scammer’s are taking this opportunity to create a money moving scam disguised as an employment opening. Job seekers who have posted their resumes on various websites are being contacted and hired as “check processing managers”. Please be mindful of the following recommendations.
- Be cautious with any “business” that requires the use of your personal account(s).
- Be cautious with any company that request funds to be transferred to a money order.
- If you are hesitant about a job offer, utilize the Better Business Bureau to validate the legitimacy of a company at www.bbb.org.
- Notify the credit union immediately if you believe that you have been a victim of employment fraud related activities that involve your personal account(s).
